Principles of Zoology Review
CHOICE Editor's Top 75 Community College Resources for November 2020
“This volume is one in the Salem Press series "Principles of Science," which covers a wide range of scientific disciplines. The book is set up as an encyclopedia covering all concepts and subject areas important in the field of zoology. Each entry includes a list of the relevant fields of study concerned, a short abstract, and "Key Concepts," a list of the important terms found in the article with their definitions, followed by the textual article explaining the particular principle. The volume also includes a list of the branches of zoology and a roster of important people in the history of zoology and conservation… This reviewer did appreciate the humorous subheadings in some entries, such as "Having Someone Over for Dinner" in the entry on cannibalism… The book is suitable for high school students and lower-level undergraduates. Summing Up: Recommended. Lower-division undergraduates. General readers.”
